Picture of the Day

I have decided to try sharing some of my favorite shots from recent shows on a daily basis. My first is also my absolute favorite from Shades of the Past in Pigeon Forge, TN. Shades Car Club had purchased farm land in Sevierville so they would have a great place to hold their annual car show. This show has been a favorite among rodders for many years with the occasional cow patty being one of the few complaints. In a shocking and unexpected move last year, the Shades staff moved the show to Dollywood's Splash Country PARKING LOT! This move raised many eyebrows. Why on earth would you move a show of this caliber out of a quite country (grass with many trees) setting to an asphalt parking lot.... with NO TREES.... on the side of a hill. That's right! You spend much of the show walking up the side of a hill. On the flip side, once you reach the top everything is down hill from there.

This year was much better. The Top 25 winners area was moved inside Splash Country. Beautiful backgrounds for super awesome pictures...... but..... the cars were parked in close groups instead of being spread all over the grounds. Great move for judges. Sucks for photogs!!! We also found out The Lazy River & Little Creek Falls are open to all registered participants. We're taking advantage of that little perk next year!!!

Well, enough of my yapping. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
